The authorization for your transaction cannot proceed because your card is in a transitional state, such as pending activation or deactivation. Please contact your card issuer's customer service for assistance in resolving this issue.

Root Cause

  • Card pending activation: The card has been issued but has not yet been activated for use.
  • Card pending deactivation or replacement: The card is scheduled for deactivation, possibly due to reissuance or reported issues.
  • Temporary hold on the card: The issuing bank has placed a temporary restriction while processing updates to the card's status.
  • Account maintenance or verification in progress: The cardholder's account is undergoing updates or verification, affecting card usability.
  • Limit exceeded: The card could have exceeded the purchase limit in a given period of time.

Troubleshooting and Solutions

  • Advise the customer to contact their card issuer's customer service to verify and resolve the card's activation status.
  • Recommend using an alternate payment method if the issue cannot be immediately resolved.
  • Retry the transaction after the card status is confirmed as active and authorized for transactions.
  • Clearly inform the customer that transactions cannot proceed until the card's transitional state is resolved.
  • Encourage the customer to check if they have received a replacement card and ensure it is properly activated.
